Rated 4 out of 5 by from simple fix I use the SS-P with my razor binoculars and spotting scope. Although I agree the quick release plate needs an alignment pin I found a simple and cheap work around. I took a piece of craft foam (like my wife and kids use for crafts and cards) cut it to shape with a razor and installed it between the release plate and the optic, like a gasket. Then finger tightened the plate. The added friction provided by the foam has kept the plate from loosening or moving. Vortex if you use my work around send me some gear lol.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Tripod is awesome, quick release plate sucks. I've had product for over a year. The tripod is great but the quick release plate is no good. It doesn't stay tight on spotting scope base . Eventually falls off if you don't watch it and tighten often. I have tried Loctite and that doesn't seem to help. Optics are awesome I just don't like the release plate.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor design Won't hold your scope or camera from turning. Needs a second pin to prevent rotation. The summitt tripod is great, but the quick release plate isn't so good.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Like the tripod, but the plate needs an alignment pin SS-P tripod is great, but the plate needs an alignment pin. Always works loose or spins and messes up the rubber on the base. Would love to fine a plate that fits this tripod with the alignment pin. May try and swap the tripod head just because of this plate.

I am trying to figure out how to attach this plate to a Vortex Optics Razor HD Angled Spotting Scope, 16-48x65. It looks like if I drill a hole in the adapter plate to receive the pin on the scope it will work. Otherwise it doesn't fit my scope. True?

1) Does this plate make it possible to interchange between the summit ss tripod and the summit window mount? 2) do these, window mount and the tripod, accept the standard mount on the Swarovski ATS?
Asked by: BJ
Yes it does. It should work just fine with your ATS.
