HSR-4 Reticle (MOA)

The HSR-4 Reticle (MOA is an ideal reticle for those who want enough information to utilize personalized ballistics, but prefer a clean look. A fine crosshair, coupled with MOA based hash-marks (2 MOA spacing), promotes fast and accurate shots from close to extended ranges.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Comes up a bit short! I absolutely love the glass and reticle! I only have one real issue though, the 2x10 is just to short for proper eye relief on my long action rifle. I have had to jump through hoops trying to find a one piece rail for a left handed rifle. It really should not have been this hard to mount a scope. The 3x15 is just right. Hope that they can tweak the length on it a bit to make it more user friendly with 2 piece bases for a long action. Would be wonderful if they used the reticle on some of the viper series!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight quality Thanks Vortex for filling the need for a lightweight, simple, but, most importantly high-quality scope. I originally purchased a 3-15 model for my tikka T3 lite. The clarity and weight were so impressive, I purchased another 2-10 for my high-end .22. Shaved a lot of weight. Clean reticle, thought I'd prefer a FFP, but, I do like the crisp bold lines for my aging eyes. For point-and-shoot., and, even holdovers with most high-velocity cartridges, SFP has been great, no dialing the turrets with 24 MOA.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from There is not a better scope for hunting I don't even know where to begin when it comes to this scope. Aesthetically it is flawless, turrets are precise and I found to be spectacularly repeatable. The scope has a death grip on zero and will not let go and I haven't been gentle with it. It is the most "expensive" optic I own and for that matter ever have. Being a family man everything is on a budget and putting aside the extra money for this purchase was worth every dollar. The Vortex warranty helped my decision to spend the money and I'm glad I did. I don't buy gear to admire it I buy gear to hunt and I use my equipment hard. I take care of my gear but I definitely don't "baby" it. This scope will outlast me and paired with a Tikka T3 Lite in 3006 makes a package I can confidently carry anywhere my outdoor adventures take me. It also makes me the weak link in the capabilities of this rig. The scope is beyond spectacular in clarity, field of view, and low light transmission keeping the reticle clear and the target crisp and viewable. Regardless of conditions this scope will allow you to hunt until quitting time. I highly recommend this optic and if the opportunity arises I will own another one for a rifle that sits lonely in the safe because I have no confidence in the off brand optic on it. The Vortex Razor HD LH is bombproof!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value This is a great optic for the price. I'll be buying more in this series in the future. Pros: Glass clarity is superb Lightweight No tunneling, something I found to be an annoyance with other scopes Generous eye relief G4 reticle is a really nice reticle, although it'd like to see a slightly smaller center dot Cons: The turrets. They're mushy, I expected a little better with the Razor name being associated with it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Needs first focal plane reticle! Great scope except one thing - it needs an option of a similarly designed (German style shaped) first focal plane reticle with mil-spaced dashes instead of the ballistic-spaced. Vortex, please... just one last step to make it perfect!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Glass! I've had this scope for over a year know and its incredible. I would love to see Vortex come out with a 2-10 x 40 or 44 Razor HD LH with the same features as the Viper HS LR FFP using a Mil Mil setup. That would make in my opinion the best scope for a precision hunter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Crisp clear glass at any magnification I couldn't be happier with this purchase. Amazing clarity at any magnification. My groups at 300 yards shrunk by 2" with my new razor lH HD. I also love the ability to reset your turret to zero. Now I want a pair of your razor binoculars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I am in love with this scope The product has a clarity that I have never experienced before. The view and the G4 BDC (MOA) RETICLE are amazing. I have since purchased binoculars and a range finder. Love this company.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome scope for a lightweight rifle! I use this on a .223 training rifle, mostly range use and some varmit hunting. I love how lightweight and low profile it is and the clarity is superb.

How does this 2-10x40 razor compere to the swarovski z3 3-10x42? Better glass, reticles, tracking .

Asked by: Jake
Thanks for the question! While I can't speak for other company's products, I can speak on the Razor HD LD. This scope is a fantastic hunting scope that is lightweight and has our Razor HD optical design. The reticle is simple yet offers multiple holdover points and tracks great! If you would like to discuss further, give us a call at 800-426-0048 ext. 5!

re: Razor HD LH 2-10 x 40 Please confirm the magnification at which the hash marks are exactly 2 MOA - @ 10x zoom? What will the incremental MOA be at 2,3,4,5,6,7 & 9 zoom? My Zeiss scope comes with this data. Why does vortex not offer this data????

Asked by: DrGMK
The reticle will hold its labeled value at max magnification. For all of the other magnifications you can calculate what they would work out to using a simple math equation: MOA / (magnification / max magnification). So an example for your scope would be if you were on 2x magnification and were using the 4 MOA line, the value of that line would be calculated by taking 4 / (2 / 10), so your line would be 20 MOA.

I have a question about the hsr-4 reticle. One illustration shows it fills about 1/6th of the field of view. Another illustration shows it filling the field of view. Being a second focal plane reticle it does not change size. Which is it?

Asked by: Guybth
It does not fill up the whole field of view, that image is blown up to show the reticle subtensions. It will look closer to the image where it fills only a portion of the field of view.

How does this glass compare to the Razor HD Gen II

Asked by: BangBangBang
The Razor HD Gen II will have better optics than the Razor HD LH. The Razor HD LH would be between our Razor HD and Razor HD Gen II when comparing optics.

Does this scope have a zero stop or reset? I didn't see one on the features list.

Asked by: Josh
No, it does not have a zero stop, but you can index the turret to zero.

I'm looking to purchase a Razor HD LH 2-10x40 (HSR-4). This will be used as a hunting scope for a new rifle I have on order. The rifle comes w/ Cerakote Burnt Bronze finish. My question is if I have the scope Cerakoted to match, will it void warranty?

Asked by: bwmiller74
No, it will not void the warranty, however we recommend cerakoting using the air cure method.

Will the Razor HD LH 2x10x40 be okay to use on 300wm or 338wm? Purchasing a Browning X Bolt for elk huntimg real soon, but haven't fully decided on caliber. If so, would you know which x-mount rings would be needed for this rifle? Was going to buy this scope if its okay for magnum rounds.
Asked by: bwmiller74
You'll want to use the medium height rings for that application. The optic will work well on those calibers. Just be sure to use 15-18 in lbs on the screws on the rings using no loctite.

Why does the 2-10 have parallax set at 100 yds instead of the adjustable parallax like the 3-15? Does the 100 yd parallax mean images may be out of focus at longer ranges? I ask because I'm looking for a hunting scope capable of shots out to 500 yds.
Asked by: Clint
I has a set parallax because this optic is designed as a minimalist hunting scope. When you have higher magnification adjustable parallax is helpful to create a crisper image and to eliminate parallax. It is not necessary with an optic that goes to 10x. You will have no issue shooting out to 500 yards with having a fixed parallax.
