SPARC® II Red Dot

Get on target fast with the SPARC® II. Ultra-compact and lightweight, the SPARC II (Speed Point Aiming for Rapid Combat) is equally at home mounted on an AR-15 or shotgun. Digital rear facing controls for powering on/off and adjusting the 2 MOA daylight bright red dot brightness at ten intensity levels—automatically returning to the last dot intensity used when powered up. Rugged single-piece body machined from aircraft grade aluminum is o-ring sealed for waterproof and fogproof performance. The VMX-3T Magnifier is not recommended for use with the SPARC II.

Note
The versatile multi-height mount system accommodates most firearms including AR-15s needing absolute or lower 1/3 co-witness heights, and mounts on standard Weaver or Picatinny bases (not included). A modular three-piece base offers four separate mounting heights for user- and weapon-specific customization: 18.0 mm (.709 inches), 21 mm (.823 inches), 37 mm (1.457 inches), 40 mm (1.575 inches).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Red Dot I absolutely love this Red Dot. I have cycled through my fair share of red dots, some breaking and some sucking, until I found the SPARC 2. I love Vortex because with its VIP warranty I will never have to buy another red dot again. I have this for life. The only problem I have had with my SPARC 2 is the from cap doesn't close right. I have to hold onto the main part to close the lid or it will slide deeper onto the right and wont close. Vortex has been awesome and has sent me a couple extra caps but I cant seem to fix it. Its not a big enough problem to send the whole thing in so i just deal with it. Buy this sight. You wont regret it!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding "Bang For Your Buck" Optic As an everyday man who constantly strives to find a balance between quality and price point, the SPARC II was a huge win on both points...it just plain delivers! I have mine mounted on my S&W M&P15T and I can't say enough about this optic. Quality build, simple controls, good battery life, water/fog proof, crisp bright dot, quick zero that holds, multiple mounting options included, and not to mention the Vortex VIP Warranty...all at a fraction of the price of some other well known brands...and trust me, being in the military, I have used them all, and the SPARC II is easily on par with them. If you are looking for a quality red dot at a reasonable price...look no further!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An inexpensive alternative to the aim****t I'll admit, I'm a Vortex junkie. I've several PST's and a Crossfire II 1-4 so I'd tried the Strikefire and wasn't impressed, sold it. I just built an AR with LWCI upper and decided to give the SPARC II a try. I took the rifle (and sight) to the range yesterday and got her sighted in in no time. Was consistently hitting the steel plate at 100 yards with every shot. As luck would have it, another member was there sighting in his new AR with the expensive brand aim****t on it. He couldn't get it zero'd (not sure if it was rifle, sight or shooter) but it was a Colt AR. I'm happy saved ~0 compared to his and mine zero'd.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great for anything! I first bought the gen1 spac a few years ago for a flat top AR and could not be happier with it, ive looked at aimpoints, and yes they are nice but not 0 nice. I purchased a second sparc (gen2) for another AR because i loved the first one soo much! They are clear and bright! Battery life is awsome, they are easy to zero and boy are they tough! My dad wanted a red dot for his .44mag marlin levergun because hes getting close to 70 and buckhorn sights just arent cutting it for him, ill bet you all can guess whats on top of his marlin. Another sparc! Great product, great warranty! Next on my list is a Viper PST 1-4!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highly Recommended I bought the Sparc || about 8 months ago and I absolutely love it. I have it mounted on a AR10 which I use for pig hunting and let me tell you this thing gets beat up and abused. I have never had to re sight it in which is amazing. I know y'all probably think I'm crazy, but this takes the abuse way better than my EOTech. I'm actually thinking about getting rid of it and buying another Sparc ||. This is a great product and I recommend this product for everyone! And no I was not paid to write this review this is just a very good product. Thank you Vortex for an amazing product at a affordable price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome! I had been trying to find a midrange priced red dot and had narrowed it down to a holosun and a sparc 2. After a little more thought I went with the sparc 2 and man is it great! I mounted it and paced off 50 yards to group it. I took 3 shots, walked up and checked the target and it was 1 inch low! A few clicks and had a cloverleaf bulls-eye, I am so happy I bought this, and Vortex will be my go to co. from here on out for more. I already ordered and received the extra battery holder and it is perfect, I couldn't be happier with it. I've already had about 250 rounds through it, zero problems. Thanks Vortex!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best optic hands down, even Rambo would approve! You reading this means my opinion matters, i bought this optic back in late 2017. After doing EXTENSIVE research for an optic. Every where i looked said Vortex. The price was what really set me up. Plus the unconditional lifetime warranty they offer. It’s on my AR, chambered in 5.56 NATO, out of the box simple set up. OUT OF THE BOX clover leaf grouping at 75 yards. Now mind you, that optic had been dropped, beat around and still held its zero. It doesn’t fog up, waterproof, versatile, CANT STRESS it’s easy to use! I mean even John Rambo would love this optic. So take my honest opinion and get you one!

Why is the use of the Vortex magnifier not recommended with the SPARC II?

Asked by: BOOMSTICK03xx
Because of the design of the Sparc II, the magnifier can induce parallax that may distort the dot.

The description for the SPARC II states it is good for a shotgun where the other red dot sights do not. Is there any reason the SPARC II is better for a shotgun than the others?

Asked by: Peter
The Sparc II works great on a shotgun, as would our Strikefire II. The Sparc II comes included with the ability to be mounted at the height a shotgun would require while the Strikefire II would need a different mount.

SPARC II on my M1A, Arms#18 mount? Is that weird? What recommendation if any for the riser? I considered the Strikefire II, but i'm hesitant with the dot being 4 MOA.

Is the Sparc 2 an "auto on" red dot? I want to use this on my home protection rifle and the last thing I want is to have to fumble around with controls in an emergency situation. Thanks!

Asked by: pacman59
Our red dots do not have an auto on function, you would need to press the up button on the Sparc II in order to turn the red dot on.

Contemplating buying the SPARC II to use in conjunction with Midwest Industries: US Palm, 2 piece AK-47 Handguard. M.I. specifies that SPARC 1 will NOT co-witness, but it doesn't say regarding the SPARC II. Will the SPARC II allow co-witness?

Asked by: Hendo88
The Sparc II will be too tall to get a co-witness with the iron sights.

If it is not recommended to use the vmx-st magnifier with sparc 2 what magnifier do you recommend. I just purchased the sparc 2 and i wanted a magnifier to go with it next. I am disappointed that i can't use the vmx. So i am at your mersy on what to use.

Asked by: bob a
The Sparc II is not recommended for use with a magnifier. Because of the design of the optic, when it is used with a magnifier the dot can be distorted. That being said, we have a lot of customers that do use them together and they work fine so it can be done.

I have the Sparc II and the mount keeps loosening up , not sure about using thread locker in case I want to QD. What size is the torx tool that came w/Sparc II ? And what is torque recommendation for bottom mount screw ?

Asked by: dmatt
The mount on the Sparc II is a T-10 torx, we recommend 15 inch pounds on the screw. If you do not want to use Loctite, you could try Vibratite to keep the screw from vibrating loose.

I have the magnifier with the sparc 2, yet I see now you are starting it doesn't work well with the sparc under the description? Wondering why this is. I asked via email, before bought but was told it will work together. Just checking , cause blurry dot

Asked by: SShannon
The magnifier when used with the Sparcs can cause the dot to distort so we recommend using the magnifier with the Strikefire II.

I own a SPARC 2 red dot, that uses a CR2032 battery. Typically I take the battery out of the scope while the gun is being cased/stored for extended periods. Would it be unwise to leave the battery in the scope?

Will Vortex SPARC II work with the century arms mount for the c39v2?  Also will I still be able to use the sights with this mounted?

I guess I have an older model spark that came with a one piece rubber lens cap band that quickly broke. Will the newer spark flip up lens covers fit my older model? One thing I love about my spark is the NVG button to make the red dot barely visible (yes I can see it). When I hunt hogs at night with a green light it contrasts nicely without obscuring the target.
