Spitfire™ 1x Prism Scope

Designed specifically for the AR platform, the 1x Spitfire™ combines an impressive array of high-performance features into a rugged, ultra-compact package. When fast target acquisition in close- to medium-range shooting applications is a priority, the Spitfire excels. Laced with advanced features, the sophisticated prism-based design allows for a more compact optical system without sacrificing optical quality. The DRT (Dual Ring Tactical) reticle is etched directly on the prism to assure consistent point-of-aim at all times with selectable red/green illumination of five intensity levels to match specific conditions. Prism Scopes are not compatible with the VMX-3T Magnifier.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not a regular red dot I'm impressed with the clarity, especially for old eyes! It's plenty rugged, but this is not a dot scope. It should be called a 1x rifle scope. It can not be co witnessed and should not be advertised that way. If you focus properly, your front sight is way too blurry to shoot. It also does not zero as co witnessed. If you move the irons to match the scope and take it off, you will not be zero anymore! I called Vortex, and the rep said it was designed as stand alone. You should be up front about that, as most departments require co witnessed dot scopes on patrol rifles. Also in low light, it transmits a lot of light towards the muzzle end.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great optic at any price! I purchased the spitfire 1x in January, I have been using it now for 5 months and I am highly satisfied with my purchase. The etched reticle is crisp and the concentric dual rings draw your eye to the point of aim quickly. I can actually use the optic without illumination really well with moderate lighting. The choice of red or green illumination is great, however I prefer the red. The mount is robust and has not budged a bit. The windage and elevation adjustments are very concise and consistent. I have banged the optic around several times and it has held its zero without fail. I highly recommend this sight!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Functionality exceeds competition In my search process for a red dot style optic the spitfire stood out for 2 reasons: 1) the etched reticle gives yoy an advantage in that you're not restricted by a battery, whether having to turn it on or having it lose power, and the clarty when illuminated is noticeably sharper than a reflected sight picture 2) the DRT reticle is a lot easier for your eye to pick up and center on target quickly compared to a single dot Both of these give the spitfire prism a significant advantage over similar available models for the function I was looking for in a close quarters optic for the AR, and I am very satisfied with the purchase. The lifetime warranty when making a significant investment in an optic adds great value when going with Vortex

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Crystal Clear Optic Perfect for CQC Bought this optic specifically for a lightweight close quarters AR-15 build. I couldn't be happier with it's performance.Having the etched reticle negates the need for batteries, though the illumination is very nice and very bright, even in blazing sunlight. Additionally because it is etched it is far more clear than any red dot i've used, and it also was perfect with my astigmatism. The only thing I dislike about this optic, and I had the same issue with the Sparc II, is that the wire cap adjustment retainers are a pain. I ended up cutting them both off after one broke, and they kept making it difficult to remove my adjustment caps during sight in. Also the rear flip cap fits loosely. But other than those minor issues I couldn't be happier.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from One of the best if not the best CQB optic on the market First off, this optic is light, it allows its shooter to rapidly ID, engage, and transition between targets even at varying distances up to 200m with relative ease. The center dot is one moa, which is just sexy, however; the ring around the center dot is a bit cumbersome in my opinion. In my opinion it would be nice to have the option to either dim that ring down as low as possible if not completely get rid of it. If I am engaging a target at that close and have to utilize that reticle, you can believe me that my cheek isn't seated on that butt stock since I will be in the middle of a mag dump while transitioning to my secondary weapon because all hell has literally broken loose at that point.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Prism Red Dot I purchased the Spitfire 1x and placed it on a very low budget AR. Why you ask? Simply becaused I wanted a rifle that I could beat up, drag through the woods and kill hog and coyotes with, with no remorse. The downside was I needed an optic I could trust with it. After purchasing MANY Vortex products I came across the Spitfire at my Local Gun Store. After seeing the 1x magnification and clarity it was a must have. Had everything I needed for a good hunt, integrated picitany mount and riser and flip caps. Not to mention this thing is rugged as all get out. The best part of this optic is for the money you get an ETCHED optic. So if / when the battery does die ( you know it will be at a bad moment ) you still got eyes on target without need to switch to backups. Great Design!!! I'd love to get the 3x next

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome red dot...... Even when batteries run out. I have three of these red dots on tactical setups. I have no issues at all from freezing Temps to 130 degrees these 1X scopes work. I have over 20 years military experience and over half a dozen combat tours with Aimpoints and Acogs.... I like my Vortex products much more......

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Match I recently built a custom Ruger 10/22 out of a stock carbine. I put in a bull barrel, upgraded some internal parts, Magpul stock, and of course a Vortex Spitfire tops it off. This optic is extremely clear, priced right, and exactly what I was looking for to make quick work of squirrels and maybe some yotes. I like how even without batteries you can still see the crosshairs. Like all the other Vortex items that my wife doesn't know about this one is also highly recommended by me.

I have an astigmatism and so I believe a prism scope is best. How will this work on a 9mm such as a CZ Scorpion?

Asked by: Blackstone
The Spitfires would work very well on your CZ Scorpion.

I just purchased a Spitfire 1x Prism scope.  On the left side of the eyepiece there is a verticle clackout. It does not interfere with the view, but is a distraction.  I have not zeroed the scope so my question may be premature.  Is this normal?  Thank yo

Will it hold up to the recoil of my 12 gauge turkey gun. Have it mounted without the riser. Relief and everything else is fine. Just concerned about recoil and the electronics.
Asked by: RockyMountain
Yes, it will handle the recoil of your shotgun. If you were to have any issues our VIP Warranty would take care of it for you.

I noticed that there is a compatible American Defense QD mount that will work with the newer Spitfire AR scope, but do you know if there is a QD mount available for my older Spitfire 1x (SKU: SPR-1301)? I would love to put a QD mount under it. Thanks!

I recently purchased the Springfield Saint AR15, like the question regarding the Ruger, is the vortex spitfire x1 compatible with this rifle. I had not known that it was possible for a portion of the view to be obscured by the front site so I wanted to find out if this was also true for the Saint rifle. If so, do you have a scope that would work and not be obscured? thanks so much
Asked by: Layne
Any AR platform rifle with that A2 style front sight you will be able to see the sight. The only time you won't is if you have a magnified optic at 4x or higher. The Spitfire AR is a great optic, but since it is a prismatic scope you will not be able to use the iron sights while looking through the optic (co-witness). Call us if you need any advice 800-426-0048.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent optic, Excellent Value I bought this red dot about 6 months ago as a replacement for a cheap piece of junk I had on top of my AR. It was simple to zero, and holds zero perfectly despite being dropped a couple times. The illuminated etched reticle is outstanding, and I've had a couple friends to buy this same red dot after using mine. If you don't want to fork out 500+ for an aimpoint or an EOTech, Vortex is the way to go.
