Rated 5 out of 5 by from I am hooked! With the addition of a Strikefire II to my new Sig M400, I now have the sight on 3 of my AR's. I love the sight for it's fast target acquisition and the fact that it holds zero so well. I have had problems with other red dots not holding zero when removed during maintenance or other work. The Strikefire rarely requires adjustment when I check my zero following maintenance or an extended firing session. In addition, I have Vortex scopes on several bolt-action rifles and Vortex red dots on 3 pistols. All are terrific. Not a single warranty issue on any optic. Can't wait to get my hands on a new Razor AMG "Huey". Guess its time to start looking for a new rifle to put it on. Keep up the great work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great red dot at a great price point! I bought one of these years ago and put it on my M&P 15-22 for plinking and rabbit hunting. Over the years, it has just kept working! I have a few other higher priced red dots from other companies, and this red dot works every bit as good as them, and is a lot cheaper... But still a very dependable and quality product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Feel, Looks Great This scope is brand new to me, but it looks great, feels like a very solid item. Was easy to install and sight in. The Red/Green option is fantastic and the 10 levels of brightness is a sweet feature, very visible and small dot. I've seen some red dots that cover up too much, this does not.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent choice Purchased this sight to pair with my S&W, M&P15. Love the fact that I can still use my original sights without any modifications. Several different levels of brightness on both red and green. Vortex Optics warranty along with the price that I paid....excellent choice for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from At home on my HD shotgun Originally purchased this for my first AR. But the dot was too big for some of the distances I shoot. And my aging eyes need magnification. Shooting distances under 50 yards, this baby is awesome. Better shooters with better eyes could probably take this dot out to 100, but that aint me. I put a Vortex 1-4 on the AR and moved this to my HD shotgun. That's where it really shines IMHO. dot holds zero under the heavy recoil. The red/green option is useful at the range. Adjustments are easy and accurate. Glass is clear and bright. Could not ask for anything more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best red dot out there!! This is mounted on a 308 AR. Zeroed it in 2 shots. Has not budged in over 2 years of owning. VERY durable and shockproof. Battery life is crazy long. Glass is very clear. With a great field of view. VERY tough red dot!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great product I have used this product for the past two years for hunting. It works great in all light conditions from dawn to dusk. Right now I have it on a ruler precision rifle in 6.5 creedmoor. The only thing that I wish is that the dot was smaller so it did not cover up so much of the target at distance. The overall construction of the product is great. Very tough and it will take a lot of abuse. I am not the easiest on my hunting equipment when it comes to travel and the hunt it self. Love the products and have chosen this over all the other red dots that I own.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This scope will take the recoil I bought this scope for my Remington 11/87 For turkey hunting. Using 3 inch magnums. The scope handled the recoil and has never got knocked off.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sight! Bought a Strikefire from Amazon, not a Strikefire II, but I think they’re close enough to count. Very clear glass, with top notch electronics, on an excellent cantilever mount right out of the box. Slapped it on my MOE’d up AR, and it shot great. It cowitnessed perfectly with both the lower 1/3, and “actual” mounts. Couldn’t ask for a better red dot sight for the price. Having the “no questions” lifetime guarantee, left me with a confident feeling as well, that I’d be okay in the even of a catastrophic failure on my part, or the sight’s part.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Night hog hunting I use this on my night hog hunting AR in conjunction with a green light. The adjustable intensity of the red dot is perfect for adapting light conditions. As the night gets darker I back it off and it is dead on all the time. I've only had to change the battery once in two seasons and it's simple to do. I was able to change it while in the stand in the dark without tools or dismounting in about two minutes. You can't beat this red/green dot scope for the price. From 18 degrees to 108 degrees this scope delivers consistently night after night.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 1st AR 15 build On my first Ar15 build I went with a simple .223/5.56 upper, 18 inch barrel with a 1/7 ratio. I needed something adaptable for hog hunting where it was close quarters or at a vast distance. I then did some research on optics. Because of the circumstances of the game and their unpredictability in feeding I needed an optic with that would not compromise my vision at night. The vortex strike fire II red/green dot was the most attractive both in style, size and effectiveness. Easily adjustable, dependable, great price and looks phenomenal!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Would buy again I bought this to see how well I liked red-dots. I didn't want to spend 0 on an Aimpoint and I also didn't want to spend . I was familiar with Vortex products and their guarantee so I went with this. Have had it for 3-4 years and haven't had one problem. Wished the battery life was longer but I do not have a need to leave it on 24/7 so that's not a real problem for me. Customer service with Vortex is excellent. I misplaced the original flip caps and called to order a replacement. They provided a replacement set at no cost.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tough Red Dot For the price, it absolutely can't be beat. I have it mounted on my VEPR 7.62x39 and it has maintained it's zero for three years since I first installed it. I'm not easy on any of my gear, I put it to work, and the Strikefire has not let me down. The dots are crisp and the glass is clear. My only complaint, if you could call it that, is if you accidently bump the NV button, you may think the battery is dead or failing. Just give it another tap and bring the dot back up to last brightness setting. I would buy again in a heartbeat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Customer for life! This is a great CCO! Easily sighted. Durable. The variable intesity is great and the selector buttons are easy to find/easy to use. I use this optic on my mil spec AR, which is basically a beat-around rifle. The sight is perfect even up to 100 yards. And you can easily co-witness through the glass if needed. I am currently building a 3G and a presision rifle. Both will be dressed with a Vortex optic! As for Vortex, itself, they have won me over with their great product at a reasonable price, and their incredible support for the veteran community. And i like that they are local to me (Southern Wisconsin), so i can stop in any time and see Jon and know he will take excellent care of my and my buddies. YES...I WILL BUY AGAIN...FOR ALL MY FUTURE OPTICS NEEDS!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best value On A Great Optic Purchased the Strikefire 2 red and green about 8 months ago and think it's such a great optic that I just ordered the VMX 3t magnifier to go with it. It's a quality optic for a great price. And comes with a Unlimited lifetime warranty. What's that say about a company? It says they believe in their own products. Features I like best 1 CRW 2 battery instead of wafer 2. Auto off 3. Unlimited eye relief 4. Included Cantilever mount 5 Unlimited Lifetime Warranty Bottom line for the money you can't get a better Optic than a Vortex

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great red dot sight for the working man I received this on Christmas from my wife.I mounted it on my ruger ar556 and had it zeroed in at 50 yards after 12 shots, I now have over a hundred rounds fired and no problems.I like the red to green dot option and the ease of switching between the two ,I have had red dots from different manufactures and none compare to this strike fire for the price and features vortex has the best red dot in the blue collar working mans price range they have a new customer and I'm already looking at a scope from them for my deer rifle.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A good deal for the money! The StrikeFire II Red/Green Dot is a good deal for your money. It's ease of operation is a plus, easy to zero. The quality is 1st rate. I like the ability too change the aim dot from red to green to better adjust to the lighting conditions, the adjustment of the intensity of the dot/reticle is easily accomplished. I'm totally satisfied with the Vortex StrikeFire II Red/Green Dot sight, with a lifetime warranty, plus made in Wisconsin (home state) I would recommend this sight to anyone looking for a good Red dot sight!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I couldn't be happier! I'm new to the market and on a tight budget so I researched ads, reviews & videos of different brands/models for quite a while and found that everybody's ad will promise they are the best... I wasn't shopping for top-of-the-line equipment, just wanted a decent quality, decent looking and most of all decent priced red dot for my AR. What I got was so much more! Slick looking, excellent quality, option of red or green dots and I can add a magnifier, this one has it all! Oh, and let's not forget that lifetime warranty!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple yet effective. This red/green dot rifle sight is amazing. For a better product than cheaper red dots, but the same quality as higher priced sights, you cannot go wrong with the StrikeFire II. It is easily affordable and with it comes the VIP Vortex Warranty. The glass is clear and the single dot reticle is very crisp on both red and green settings. From when I received mine, until now, I have had to do little adjusting to the sight. I would definitely recommend this sight to anyone interested in a high quality, fair priced sight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I LOVE THIS SIGHT I have had my StrikeFire 2 for over a year now. It is mounted on a S&W 15/22, i have taken it off & put back on numerous times during cleaning, it still holds zero. Slight 1 or 2 click adjustments and it is dead on. The low light / night vision setting worked great when my buddies & I were shooting glow sticks at 50 yards. I just built an AR pistol & will definitely buy another Vortex sight for it. The MVP warranty is just the icing on the cake! You will have to really try to hurt Vortex products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I will be buying vortex optics from now on !! After reading reviews and shopping around for different optics for my AR , reading reviews after reviews, I finally decided to go with vortex. You can not find a better warranty on optics than the one that comes with vortex, I have now sold my Nikon scope to be replaced by a vortex for the up comein deer season , spoke with jimmy quite a few different times and when I finally bought my vortex it had no sticker with it I message jimmy and he hooked me up with a sticker to display! Great company and great customer service!!!! Hands down the best optics on the market that don't take every dollar you have and I always thought Nikon was the best but vortex puts them to shame , have 2 other fellow firefighters that after seeing and shooting mine , went and also switched over to vortex!!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works good but I can see one change can be made. So far I have had no issues with this red dot. It has worked great and I like that I can change the colors and brightness settings easily. The mount works good too. My only complaint is the refresh rate of the dot. While looking through the optic and moving around I can see the dot refresh rate is slow enough that it appears the dot is flickering. None of my other red dots do this and it's slightly distracting. I recommend the Strikefire II to my friends who are looking for bang for their buck.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My first of many optics that vortex has to offer. I needed a simple red dot for a new ar build that i was putting together. Didnt want to brake the bank on the optic like my aimpoint so after looking around i picked out the strike fire 2. The vip warranty really was what sold me. And now one by one i am replaceing all of my optics with this brand. Great clear glass and keeps zero even after being banged around and 7500 rounds. Now i just replaced my prostaff with a viper and for the same price point vortex come ahead hands down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Jarhead Approved This review is made from a USMC Veteran and current LEO. Picked up this sight for my latest PSA AR15 build and I'm very impressed. The construction of the sight looks very well made. Sighted it in easily by co-witnessing my pre-sighted iron sights (A-frame and MBUS). It preformed very well at the range. Was quickly able to acquire target (7 inch circles) and hit easily from 100 yards (standing position). Other reviews complaints about Brightness of the red/green dot model were unfounded to me. Was able to see dot clearly on sunny, no clouds, in the field, and started shooting at 0900 and ended that day at 1300. I'm very impressed with this optic. I always ask myself a simple question when trying out new gear or sighting in my weapons and that is "Would I take this to war?" My answer for this sight is yes, I would.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Red Dot This red dot is has some really good features. I use this with the vortex 3x magnifier on my ar-15 chambered in 7.62x39. I use the green dot which to me is a little brighter than the red reticle. It was really easy to zero and holds the zero perfectly on this rifle. I also have one on a 223 chambered rifle with similar results. The only down side is that it is a 4 MOA dot so at long ranges it may take over the target. It worked great at 250 to shoot a 1'x1' steel plate.
Date published: 2017-06-15
Rated 5 out of 5 by from 3k rounds and still going strong! I decided to try Vortex optics after a few of my friends made the switch. I have always been a trijicon guy for years on my AR platform rifles. And i have to admit I was really surprised at quality for the price that you get with Vortex. Although the optic clarity is a little less than I'm used to, the overall performance has been great! I think the next purchase will be a scope for my long range rifle. Vortex will definitely get a good hard look before anyone else!
Date published: 2017-06-15
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A red dot you can count on performing The Strike Fire 2 is a must have for any rifle. It's quality is 3x what you would get for your money anywhere else. A couple years now I have ever used it and still get great groups at 100 meters. I have only chambers the battery once and that was because it's been so long. The strike fire 2 effortlessly holds zero. Backed by Vortex's Great customer service which I have never had to use for any other reason than questions. Do I recommend vortex? Yes yes I do!
Date published: 2017-06-15
Rated 5 out of 5 by from EXCELLENT bang for the buck optic! I purchased this for a high-end AR build. I wanted to scope it as well as have a fast-acquisition red dot site for multiple scenarios. The mount is rock solid and very easy to get on and off. Glass quality is exceptional with a bright picture and zero distortion. The dot size is quite adequate for up-close work as well as long-distance, longer than I would have expected! I love everything about this and would not be afraid to recommend it to anyone.
Date published: 2017-06-15
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quick to the Point Currently have my strike fire mounted on a Ar-15 for training and home defense purposes. At 0-100 yards is where this red dot shines the ability to shoot with both eyes open is easily done with the design of the red dot. Do not expect to be pin point past 100 yards with this sight the dog takes to much of the target you are shooting at. If you are trying to stretch out this red dots range lower the brightness setting for more accurate placement.
Date published: 2017-06-15
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top quality for a great price! i saw this optic at my local sporting goods retailer a couple of weeks after i bought my last AR-15. (for the record, i am a very experienced shooter, and very well versed in firearms / firearms components.) and when I saw the price, I said to myself "surely this can't be THAT GOOD an optic if it is only half the price of it's more expensive competitors. Still, I decided to give it a try, and I must say, I've been extremely pleased with it so far. so much so, that I've completely dropped all of my business with a certain other company that makes holographic / red dot sights. the unmatched quality of this optic, along with the performance, finished up with the best warranty I've ever seen for an optic, Vortex really takes pride in their products, and they take care of their customers. that is why i'm now a vortex customer for life. Great Job!!!

When the illuminated dot is turned off, is there still a black dot where the red/green dot would be if the sight is turned on?

Asked by: deerhunter22
No, the Strikefire II is a red dot that does not have a reticle, it is a projected dot.

Will this work well as a forward facing optic? Or is best as an over the receiver optic?

Asked by: ThatTroyGuy
It's always recommended to mount the optic on the most stationary part of the firearm, generally the receiver.

I'm looking to mount Spitfire II on my Remington R-15. I am left eye dominant, will I be able to shoot with both eyes open?

When looking through a red dot you will only see the dot with one of your eyes so you should be able to use it with both eyes open.

Curious if the "Zero" (set dot location) is lost when the battery dies or is replaced on the Strikefire II? Or can I trust that the dot will be in the same place upon replacing the battery?

Asked by: Cory
The adjustments on your red dot are mechanical and do not require a battery so you should not lose your zero if the battery dies.
