Rated 5 out of 5 by from seeing for miles my husband wanted a pair of binoculars that would work really well when he went hunting. i looked around and found these. they did not let us down. when we go hunting its like we can see at least two miles away with these. Even in the early morning before the sun comes all the way up we could see through them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Vortex Viper 8x28 Review I went to Bob Wards looking for a Compact Binoculars. I was looking for light weight. So i had 3 options. 1) Leica 8x20 2) Zeiss 8x20 or 3) Vortex 8x28 The Leica was 0 , 9 oz and good clarity but it was the spotty Customer Service they have that put me off. They prefer to deal with stores rather than directly with the consumer. The Zeiss was 0, 9 oz , offer more FOV than the Leica along with better customer service. It however was 20mm obj. The Vortex Viper 8x28 was 9, 12 oz, offered more Light Transmission since it has a 28mm obj, has a Lifetime Warranty and cost less than the others. All of the binoculars are excellent but it was the obj lens size and Warranty that made me go with the Vortex. It can be challenging to make a Compact binocular, good Light Transmission, Lower Cost and Lower Weight. Generally if you want more Light Transmission you need a larger Binocular which justifies the 12 oz over the 9 oz. What can be improved? - a 32 obj lens would be nice -Range Finding Reticle( yes i know they have the R/T Model but Bob Wards didnt have it) -the case it comes in only has one loop. Add two loops for more stability -Wish the case had a small pocket for the optic cloth -Case could be weather proofed with PVC lining
