Rated 5 out of 5 by from Viper 10x42HD amazing bino's I bought these in 2014 to replace my old Nikon's, I live in Colorado and primarily Elk and Deer hunt. I went on a late season Elk hunt and these bino's are amazing. I hiked into my hunting location and could hear the Cow's calling super loud but couldn't see them due to it being so early. Late season in Colorado the Elk come down from the high country and are in large herds. It's unusual to hear them so vocal but it was crazy loud. I estimated I was 2-300 yards away. I broke out these Vortex's and with the amazing light gathering capability these have I could see the whole herd. Frankly I was amazed, my old bino's never had such capability. A must buy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best High-Mid range binos on the market. I have had my Viper HD binos for the last 4 years and have used them for absolutely everything. They are the most clear, crisp, hard working binos I have every owned, and I can tell you I won't spend my money on anything else. Amazing glass, with an amazing warranty, with amazing customer. This glass is literally the best on the market for all the above reasons. I was able to glass these sheds up from over 350 yards away, I was able to pick them out among all the oak brush and plants and branches that were in the area. They taped out at 393 and are for sure a once in a lifetime set that I am extremely grateful for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mechanics are key in optics I sold my beloved pair of Viper HD binos to purchase a pair from another brand we shall only know as "Z". I thought I was upgrading, I was sadly mistaken. Ihave taken these Z binos on multiple conquests and the Viper HD binos and have had multiple chances to use both. The MSRP on the Vipers was 1/2 that of the Zs but the mechanics for the adjustment knob was 2 times easier and nicer than the Z binos. As well as the eye cup breaking in a few months. For the price of these Vipers nothing can come close to the value that you will revive from outstanding clarity, color, mechanics, and build quality, plus a life time warrant.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from By far one of my best hunting purchases! I was skeptical of buying these binoculars at first. I couldn't decide if I should get the 10x50 for more light, or to go up to the 12x50 for more magnification and more light. I ended up getting the 10x42 due to my price range, and through input from some friends. The Viper HD 10x42 has well lived up to my expectations and beyond. The glass is very clear, they are light, and I can see well in low light scenarios. I have been a huge supporter of Vortex ever since I have bought these. I now have the Razor HD 22-46 Spotter, Ranger 1500, as well as the Pro GT tripod to put them on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Viper 10 x 42 Bought these when another brand started fogging up. They have preformed wonderfully in low light conditions. I've used these out west for long range they certainly help pick out the horns of Antelope, Mule Deer and Elk at long distance. I also us them when hunting Whitetail back home. Great glass light weight and great warranty. Customer service is great on my first trip out west with my new Viper binoculars I lost one of the forward lens called customer service told my story and just wanted to buy one. The rep ask my address and said one would be in the mail. That easy. Love next purchase is a scope.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from COULDN'T BE HAPPIER! I purchased these binoculars in June and have been using them consistently all over the country. From Colorado, Montana, Iowa, many others, and back home to Wisconsin, these binoculars have been amazing no matter the situation I put myself in. From foggy mornings in the midwest to beautiful days glassing the mountains out west, I wouldn't want any other product out there with me. The glass is amazingly clear no matter the situation. I was initially looking at the Nikon Monarch Binoculars and was "satisfied." With these, I am speechless! Get out there and pick up a pair. You won't be disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First Set of Quality Glass. Exceeded All Expectations. After spending my first few hunting seasons in the woods of Minnesota with cheap glass, I decided to take a step up. The difference is truly staggering. My glassing doesn't consist of the endless landscape and hillsides of the Western US, but it does require a level of clarity and low light performance for deer season. These binos are more than up to the task. Glassing 30 minutes before sunrise, I could easily count antlers more than 100 yards away, even through thick trees and brush. I followed this purchase with a Viper HS 2.5-10x44 for my .270, and the performance is just as good. Going from cloudy, milky glass to crystal clarity gives me a level of confidence that I never had before.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth Every Penny ! I recently purchased the Vortex Viper HD 10x42 binoculars and I couldn't be more satisfied. The quality of these binoculars is excellent, the glass is crystal clear, no distortion, even around the edges, and the light gathering capability is supreme. The diopter lock is a great feature, and adjustments are very easily made, they are very lightweight, & comfortable to hold. After much research I decided to take a look at Vortex optics and I was so impressed with the Viper's that I sold my Bushnell Elite, & Leupold Mojave binoculars, the Vortex Viper's are hands down better, in my opinion.

What is the difference between a talon 10x42 and a viper 10x42? Which is better for viewing wildlife? What are the warranties? Thx

Asked by: Andy52
The Viper HD binoculars have better optics and a different body design. Both would work great for viewing wildlife and they both carry our VIP Warranty which is a full lifetime warranty.

What exactly does this mean: "Tripod Adaptable Compatible with a tripod adapter, allowing use on a tripod or car window mount."? Would one have to buy the "binocular tripod adapter"?
Asked by: Surf N Turf
Yes, you can get either our Binocular Tripod Adaptor or our Uni-Daptor. I like the Uni-Daptor myself, here is the link: http://www.vortexoptics.com/product/vortex-uni-daptor-binocular-tripod-adapter.

Can I get these equipped with the same eye cups that come on the R/T models?
Asked by: Andy
We do not offer the Viper HD 10x42 with a ranging reticle and do not have the capability of adding it, you would need to get the Viper HD R/T 10x50 in order to get the ranging reticle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I recommend vortex to everyone I know that hunts I bought the viper hd 10x42 when vortex was first coming out. That was around 5 years ago. I hunt the back country of Idaho every year and still have that original pair. Not only do I recommend vortex because of the quality of optics but because of the service. I suggest vortex to every single hunter I know when it comes to optics. I've had zeiss, leupold, Nikon, etc... Vortex is hands down my favorite. Not only is the optics amazing but the service is hands down the best. I just sent in my original pair in for service, because of 5 years of Idaho abuse and they sent me back the same pair and the only thing original on it was the vx decal. Pretty much brand new for FREE. Vortex is the only optic I'll use. AND THE ONLY OPTIC I RECOMMEND.
