Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product! I purchased this product because I unfortunately lost my last pair of binoculars when I moved to my new house (Wife's fault) lol. I am an avid hunter and decided i was going to buy a high end pair of binoculars this time, i originally had my heart set on Swarovski because my father has all of there products and i loved there quality. My dad went on a hunt in South Dakota with some friends and one of the guys there had a set of Vortex Binos and was really bragging them up so my father took one look through them and called me that night and told me not to spend ,500 on those Swarovski because these were just a clear and half the price. I took his advice and could not be happier!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BUY WHAT YOU CAN AFFORD ! Just received my new viper HD's and what can I say that VORTEX NATION doesn't already know! These are ridiculously clear, great glass let in tons of light in early morning/late evening situations perfect for my coues deer glassing and long range elk searching. I upgraded from my diamondback 12X50's ( had to save up $$ ) loved my diamondbacks but now my viper HDs are my new love! I tell all my hunt'n buddies buy what you can afford at the time, you can always upgrade later and don't purchase anything other than VORTEX, not only do they produce super quality product in every product line their warranty is something outta this world! #VortexNation4Life

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Warranty Ever! I love Vortex and trust them more than any other optics company! They want to help you and strive to do the very best that they can to please you and to make you happy! I dropped my Viper Binoculars a few months ago while glassing some bucks. They fell about 15 feet off a ledge and landed right on the eye piece. I just barely got some time to send them in about a week ago. Vortex was right on top of it and emailed me to let me know that they had received them and told me the process that they would be taking to fix or replace them. It's just so nice to me in the loop of whats going on. They keep you informed and back every single product that they produce! Thank you Vortex for you awesome warranty. I only trust Vortex!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would suggest this to everyone I know I am from western Colorado where hunting terrain can very from high desert to mountainous regions and this set on binos has preformed flawlessly. I carry these as well as a tripod and it has eliminated the need to carry a sporting scope, but yet they are stable enough to pull up quickly and see something up close. More often then not I am sitting on a hillside long before daylight. These have been great low light bunks that help me see animals before I can see them with the naked eye. With the quality and magnification of these you would think they would be heavy and bulky but that is actually almost the exact opposite. They are long enough to fit your hands nicely and light enough that I hardly notice when I'm wearing them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent binoculars! I compared these to almost all the binoculars in the store (including those several thousand dollar ones) these binoculars fit to my face the best and had equal if not better clarity and light intake. I took these on a hunting trip in the mountains of wyoming and had great success with them. The survived the multiple knocks off the rocks and constant jarring of the horse. Best of all, if something does happen to them, the main reason I got them was for their top of the line warranty!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One Bino for Everything I used to own 3 bino's for hunting - a pocket sized 10x24, a compact 12x30 and a size full size 8x56 for low light. All were high end Japanese and German made. Decided to simplify and get one bino for everything and was going to go with 10x42. So I went to Cabela's and compared the Nikon M7, Zeiss and Vortex, but based on a friend's recommendation I wound up with the Vortex Viper 15x50 HD. All I can say is WOW. These are the best binos I have ever owned by far. A bit over my budget but well worth the extra $. I thought they would be too large & heavy and hard to hold steady but that is not the case at all. They are surprisingly compact & lightweight. Again, based on my friend's recommendation I will be getting a tripod mount for extended glassing. I figure if I add a doubler I can leave the spotting scope behind too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from See what you're missing... For years I hunted Coues deer with a cheaper pair of 12x and thought they were fine. I got a set of these as a gift and I saw 3x as many bucks as before! The clarity was impressive when compared to binos which didn't cost much less. I glassed up this buck at 1600 yards! Sorry if picture looks poor, held cell phone to binos, and then cropped photo for the sight. I would have never been able to see antler at that range with my old binos.

Do these viper 15 x50 binoculars require a tripod?
Asked by: Larry
Using a rest of some sort such as a tripod is recommended as a high magnification binocular is difficult to hold steady. Here is a link to our tripod adapter that you can utilize when using a tripod: http://www.vortexoptics.com/product/vortex-uni-daptor-binocular-tripod-adapter
