Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a buy! This 6-24 scope is the Best Buy I have found. Its optics are clear enough I don't need my spotting scope out to 200 yards to see the bullet holes. I have 2 of these and one is on a 300 Remington ultra mag. The heavy recoil of this 6.5 lb mountain rifle does not faze it. The 4" eye relief prevents scope rash also. The resettable turrets allow easy zeroing as I experiment with different loads. This scope delivers results that cost 2-3 times as much in other brands. The quality in this is remarkable. I will be adding several more to my collection. This is a second focal plane scope do the crosshairs remain consistent regardless of magnification.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from So Far NOT GOOD..... Well, I got my HS-T 6x24x50 mounted to my 20" AR and the first thing I notice is the cross hairs are canted-off center. If the top vertical part of the cross hair should be at 360, and mine is at about 356-7 degrees. Called Vortex, they were sorry and told me to fill out the online form and ship the unit back to them for repair or replacement. Since I plan to go coyote hunting here in Michigan this weekend, and next weekend, they said if I overnight the glass to them they would expedite the process and overnight it back to me. So stand by for an updated review with my service experience. Nice looking unit, image clear-crisp on 6x in my yard.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this scope! I put this scope on my Tikka T3 SL 7mm rem mag. I have turned this gun into my elk (and other larger big game) rifle. This scope has performed flawlessly for me. As a relatively new shooter when it comes to turrets and long range, this scope has made my life so easy. I was quickly able to sight it in, install the zero-stops, and have confidence in my shooting because i can clearly see my target with the range of power this scope has. I love the fact that I no longer have to mess with a BDC and how uncluttered this scope is with its highly visible but clean reticle. This was my first vortex and I am in the process of switching everything I own over to vortex optics!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Do-It-All Optic I was looking for an optic that could do everything on my general purpose .308 - targets, hunting, whatever. I had another brand of scope with a BDC reticle, but if I wanted to try my hand at some precision or tactical rifle, that scope was not going to work well. After many months of searching, and having been super impressed with a previous Vortex purchase, I went for the HS-T. I have not been disappointed! The clarity is excellent. The versatility of the reticle, along with the ability to easily dial up and down and even make a zero-stop, has made this a great choice. I would not hesitate to recommend this optic to someone looking for a solid do-everything optic at a very good price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely High Resolution I bought this scope more than a year ago. I knew I wanted a high quality scope within my price range, and this fit the bill perfectly. I was happy with it, but I didn’t realize just how great it was until deer season. The first night I was out, it started to get dark, I heard something, but I couldn’t quite make it out. I looked through the scope, and I could see clear as day! I was absolutely amazed! I was able to see that it was a medium size doe making all that noise. Although I didn’t get a buck on that hunt, I was able to see very well which allows me to hunt safer as well as longer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thank you Vortex 56 years old just getting into long range shooting. Bought the Viper HST for my NM M1A to shoot at the CMP (not in competition) in Talladega. My friends were shooting NF on there 6mm and 6.5mm BR guns. I honestly could not tell the difference in clarity between the different scopes. I was able to keep it in the bull easily at 300 and 600 yards. Vortex prices are reasonable to me, I've bought another Vortex HST for my AR and a Golden Eagle for the BR I'm having built.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding glass This is my third vortex scope. I got this scope for a savage 6.5 creedmoor. I mounted the scope in a set of talley medium height rings with perfect amount of clearance for the 50mm objective. I immediately bore sighted and took it to the range. My first shot at 100 yards was on paper and used the VMR1 reticle to measure my adjustment. My next shot was dead center on the bullseye. I plugged in my muzzle velocity into my ballistic program and dailed the turret for 700 hundred yards and hit the gong with one shot. Very impressed with the scope tracking, reticle and just overall appearance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely BRILLIANT Scope I bought my HST not long after they became available in Australia. I would much prefer my scope over all other scopes I've used previously and since my purchase. I have no idea about customer service as it is flawless. Missed quite a few shots (didn't take them, lol) because I was so rapt in just looking around, ranging things and having an absolute ball. It is fitted to my Tikka 22-250, what a match. I've got it mounted in Vortex pmr rings, a perfect match. I recommend this scope, not only to friends, but to customers as well. It has WOW factor.

I have a Browning Hells Canyon Speed 7mm rem mag and would like to put on the viper hst 6-24x50. Which rings and height would you reccomend? Thanks!

Thanks for the question! I would recommend going with a 1-piece Picatinny rail from www.egwguns.com and a set of our 30 mm Pro Rings-Medium for your setup.

Hi, I have a Tikka T3x with the MDT ESS-Chassis (Full Rail) and the High Scope Base. I want to get the Precison Matched Rings for a Viper HS-T 6-24x50. Can I use Medium Rings, or should I go with the High rings?

Asked by: Ralph
Thanks for the question! I would recommend going with the 30 mm Precision Matched Rings 0.97" inch height for your setup.

what are the best rings for this configuration bergara hmr .308 win + Viper HST 6-24 x50. Pro series rings (new) or pro series? What's the difference between the two?

Asked by: gumas
Thanks for the question! Awesome setup! I would recommend going with a 1-piece Picatinny rail from ww.egwguns.com. I would then go with a set of our new Pro Rings. This will actually be replacing the old Pro Rings. The major differences are that the new ones are machined with a much tighter tolerance and they are going to be horizontally split. I would go with a set of the 30 mm-Mediums to complete your setup.

I am buying a Bergara Model B-14 HMR 308WIN rifle which ring is indicated for shots of up to 500 yards and how high the ring is

Asked by: sthfgh
Thanks for the question! I would recommend going with a 1-piece Picatinny rail from www.egwguns.com and a set of our 30 mm Pro Rings-Medium. None of our rings are designed for certain distances. Most riflescope and rifle combinations are capable of shooting out to 500-600 yards with no MOA built into it. If you are looking to shoot beyond that, I would recommend going with a 1-piece Picatinny rail with 20 MOA built into it.

Good day, The HST 6x24x50 states a max MOA of 65 however I am counting 70.25 MOA or 281 clicks from top to bottom. Could this be correct? Please advised. Thank you kindly.

Asked by: bison1913
That's great! We make them to have at least 65 MOA and sometimes they end up with a bit more.
